The Procurement & Contracting Manager is responsible for managing the procurement process related to products and parts needed by business Departments and SBUs in order to ensure continuous availability of all items required for the smooth running of their activities.

JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in the development of the Department’s objectives, goals, initiatives, plans, policies and procedures and monitor their execution.

Develop the Department’s annual budget, including all Financial and Human Resources requirements and ensure the proper utilization of these resources towards the achievement of the Department’s objectives and goals.

Monitor the operational performance of Department, compare them to the established objectives and goals and report results to the Supply Chain Director.

Direct and coach the employees, and enhance the Department’s performance while ensuring that employees are receiving the required mentoring and training.

Manage the day to day activities and operations of the Department, recommend potential improvements and ensure that all policies and procedures are properly documented and implemented within the department.

Conduct annual performance appraisal of direct subordinates and manage the overall performance appraisal process of Department employees to ensure that they are properly evaluated, developed and rewarded.

Ensure effective Department performance through the selection, development, deployment and motivation of competent staff.

Develop periodic reports outlining the department’s performance over the period and escalate them to Supply Chain Director.

 

The successful candidate will have 5 + years in retail procurement.
