Head of Finance

Reporting to Managing Director 
Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
·       Analyse strategic and annual plans to formulate effective financial strategies
·       Gauge financial risk by utilising benchmarks, ratios and trend analysis. Subsequently, provide recommendations to mitigate them
·       Implement strategies that maximise cash flow management to derive the highest return on investment
·       Monitor the capital structure of the company and identify the ideal combination of debt, equity and internal financing
·       Ensure the company activities are compliant with financial processes, systems, and policies
·       Prepare and present value add business analytics to assist business owners to make decisions.
·       Review and recommend changes to data-driven business optimization processes.
·       Support the managing director with the analysis of business opportunities and performance across various parts of the organization.
·       Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
·       Lead into New Retail finance operations & control process related omnichannel projects, such as system implementation, process re-engineering, automation & digitalization
·       Analyze past results, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
·       Provide consultation to managing director on all financial aspects mainly P&L and cash flow with strategies for optimization
·       Analyze trade meeting reports and understand effect of promotional and marketing activities on sell through rates, margins and sales
Budget and financial Control 
·       Gauge business performance by assessing the company's budgets against actual results
·       Partner with the different stakeholders to improve liquidity, over deliver budget targets and actively manage working capital 
·       Liaise with and consolidate input from other departments and team members for budgets 
·       Execute sales and profit forecasting on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
·       Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, taxation and other transactions
·       Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
·       Monitor boutique collection by reviewing boutique closing reports, verifying bank deposits, performing credit card reconciliation and processing refunds
·       Monitor the boutique cycle / annual stock count in coordination with brand retail team and the external CPA
·       Monitor/Follow up with Brand Retail team for stock position and related issues, such as annual staff consignment confirmation process & consignment out for external parties
Analytics and reporting
·       Prepare financial statements in compliance with legislation and ensure that all accounting procedures and systems are updated to meet these requirements
·       Prepare budgets, forecast and trend analysis periodically
·       Analysing and explaining current and historic performance, providing effective commercial business challenge to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are achieved or beaten.
·       Prepare retail & ecommerce finance operations analysis & PowerPoint presenting at brands retail monthly meeting 
·       Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.
·       Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the board.
·       Works with the line of reportees to consolidate and prepare the quarterly and annual budgets/ forecasts.
·       Track weekly variances from budgets and report them to the Managing director with action plans 
·       Consolidates and presents business results, on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
·       Maintain business analytics reporting across territories to ascertain the business performance, and assist marketing and operational teams in decision making.
·       Preparation of month end results and associated reporting within deadlines, with zero error count and provide interpretation with insightful and productive commentary in order to accurately advise the business on financial performance.
·       Provide ad hoc reports requested by different stakeholders.
·       Act as a point of contact for business analysis and reporting queries.
·       Assist in the preparation of all financial reports including P&L budget, cash flow statements, balance sheet, and forecast reporting packs
·       Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors.
·       Ensure integrity of information flowing from Microsoft dynamics into Power BI.
·       Transition of all reporting into Power BI basis.
·       Educate team members on how to use Power BI.

·       Able to apply your analytical skills beyond the traditional functions of finance and to bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues.
·       Able to run feasibilities based on internal and external factors.
·       Ensure preparation and timely presentation of business reports, and analysis for key decision making.
Functional Competencies:
·       Working knowledge with Microsoft dynamics and have a demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
·       Retail experience as a must
·       Skilled in technology and possess exceptionally good computer skills.
·       Exceptionally good MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint skills, necessary for the creation of financial documentation.
·       Payment reconciliation.
·       Technical accounting and finance skills.
·       Numeracy skills.
·       Problem solving financial reports.
·       Strong set of ‘soft’ skills, including:
1.     Presentation
2.     Relationship building
3.     Negotiation
4.     Facilitation and conflict resolution
5.     Excellent project manager
