Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Import Manager to join our clients retail commercial team.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Head, the Import Manager will oversee the end-to-end importation process, ensuring products are sourced, imported, and delivered efficiently to support the company’s retail operations. This role requires expertise in international trade, logistics, supplier management, and customs compliance to maintain a seamless supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
  • Import Operations Management: Manage the full import process, from sourcing international products to ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery to the retail network.
  • Supplier & Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, managing import documentation (e.g., tariffs, duties, taxes) to prevent delays or penalties.
  • Inventory & Demand Coordination: Partner with supply chain and retail teams to align import schedules with demand forecasts, maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing stockouts or overstocking.
  • Logistics & Shipping Coordination: Oversee logistics operations to ensure imported goods are delivered on time, meeting retail schedules and product availability needs.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Monitor and manage the import budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and availability standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate import records and documentation. Provide detailed reports on import activities, costs, and product availability to the Commercial Head and senior management.
  • Market & Trade Policy Monitoring: Stay updated on global trade regulations, customs policies, and market trends that could impact the import process.
  • Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with purchasing, marketing, and retail teams to align product supply with retail strategies and promotional calendars.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in import/export management, preferably in the retail sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of international logistics, customs regulations, and retail industry dynamics.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication abilities.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines efficiently.
    • Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office.
    • Analytical skills to evaluate import data and make informed business decisions.
Essential EXPERIENCE 
Experience with ERP systems and trade compliance software. 
Background in the Saudi Market , if not must be working with Hyper market in own country

Worked with Suppliers from China
Aware of the Import cycle and the Factories supplying products
At least 5 years experience in an import management position 
Fluent Arabic and English
