Job Title: Commercial Head ( Group Category Manager )
Reports To: Senior Management
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Head to lead and oversee the company’s commercial operations.
Reporting directly to the Senior team, the Commercial Head will drive the overall commercial strategy, ensuring business growth and maximizing profitability. This role involves managing key functions, including sales, marketing, business development, and strategic partnerships, while aligning efforts with the company’s long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the commercial strategy in alignment with the company’s vision and goals. Lead the commercial team to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Drive revenue generation by overseeing sales strategies, pricing policies, and identifying new business opportunities. Build and manage relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the commercial team, including sales, marketing, and business development professionals. Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance targets.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior. Use insights to guide decision-making and refine strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
- Partnerships & Negotiations: Establish and manage strategic partnerships, collaborations, and vendor relationships to enhance business growth. Negotiate key contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and profitability.
- Budget & Profitability Management: Oversee the commercial department’s budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation to support revenue-generating activities. Track financial performance and meet profitability goals.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Partner with operations, finance, supply chain, and product teams to align commercial strategies with broader business objectives and ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.
- Customer Insights & Experience: Understand customer needs and preferences to drive improvements in customer experience and satisfaction through effective product positioning and marketing strategies.
- Reporting & Analytics: Provide regular reports to executive management on commercial performance, market trends, sales results, and growth opportunities. Leverage data and analytics to inform strategic decisions.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in commercial management, with a proven track record in leadership roles within the retail or related industry.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to drive teams toward common goals, inspire innovation, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Strategic Thinking: Capable of developing long-term business plans and making data-driven decisions.
- Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial metrics, profit and loss management, and budget oversight.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent ability to secure favorable contracts and partnerships.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges and devise creative solutions to drive growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the retail sector in Saudi Arabia or GCC with Hypermarket experience
- Familiarity with market research, digital marketing strategies, and e-commerce.
